North Central Electric is celebrating two employees — Data Analyst Lynndsie Stahl and Journeyman Lineman Paul Weaver — graduating from a statewide program aiming to hone the skills of the next generation of electric cooperative leaders.
The one-year Cooperative Leadership Edge program was hosted by NCE’s statewide association, Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, and required six courses, two assessments, and a capstone project. Coursework focused on coaching employees, managing conflict, adapting communication approaches, carrying out difficult conversations, and delivering results.
“Leadership Edge was a great experience,” Weaver says. “I learned a lot that I can use on my leadership journey and completed a milestone along the way.”
“I have been looking forward to partaking in the Leadership Edge program for a few years and was thrilled to be able to embark on the journey of growing as a person and a leader in the cooperative,” Stahl says. “I learned many invaluable lessons about communicating with different personality styles, managing projects, and collaborating with others, and the best part was that I was able to implement the things that I learned immediately.”
NCE President/CEO Ed VanHoose says the company invests in training and development to serve consumer members with top talent and skills.
“We exist to fulfill a commitment to our communities that goes beyond providing electric service. Our cooperative strives to make our territory an even better place to live and work, with a service mindset as the foundation for everything we do,” VanHoose says. “Our mission means investing in our employees, equipping them to provide the best possible community services. I am extremely proud of them for their accomplishments and pleased to have them on our staff.”
Congratulations to our Leadership Edge graduates, and thank you for dedicating your time to growing skills that help better serve our members.
